Brief Slack on tomorrow’s calendar guests
A Zapier agent scans the day’s meetings, looks up outside attendees, and posts a short briefing in Slack each morning.
- What they did
- The author built a Zapier agent with a 6 a.m. daily schedule. It used Google Calendar to find meetings, web search to look up each external guest and their company, and Slack to post a short paragraph in a channel. Before turning it on, they checked the setup in preview.
- How it went
- In testing, the agent found background details on the author’s CEO and CTO and delivered them to Slack. The article did not report any live-run results. The free plan also limits test runs to 10 actions.
- Tips
- Keep the briefing short so it is easy to scan. During testing, expect confirmation prompts; after that, the agent can run automatically once live.
Try it yourself with Zapier Agents
Each morning at [time], check my Google Calendar for today’s meetings. For every meeting that includes someone outside my company, use web search to gather a brief background on that person and their organization. Write a short Slack update with one paragraph per guest, then pause and show me the draft for approval before sending anything to [channel or DM]. After I approve, send the Slack message. If a meeting has no external guests, say that clearly.
Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
