We checked the English search term AI news for October 21, 2025–October 20, 2026, with All categories and Web Search, on October 21, 2026. The observations helped us choose places where we could also provide useful primary sources. They are a snapshot of relative search interest, rather than a ranking of the world’s cities.
| Measured geography | Relative interest |
|---|---|
| San Francisco–Oakland–San Jose CA metro area | 21 |
| Seattle–Tacoma WA metro area | 15 |
| New York NY metro area | 12 |
These values use the same US metro scale. The highest observation in that request was Cheyenne WY–Scottsbluff NE at 100. San Francisco, Seattle and New York are selected resource guides, not the three highest-scoring metros. A metro is wider than its named city.
Singapore, a city-state, scored 73 in a separate worldwide country comparison, where South Korea was 100. Singapore’s 73 cannot be compared directly with the US metro values because the requests use different normalization scales.
Google Trends samples searches and adjusts relative interest for the total searches in each geography. It does not provide the number of searches here, measure the prompts people send to chatbots, or predict visits to this site. Scores can change when the data is sampled again. Google explains its data and normalization.
