Turn a stack of articles into a cited summary
Have an agent compare many articles, pull out shared themes, and draft a source-cited summary document.
- What they did
- A user fed Claude in Chrome 20 articles about AI automation trends and asked for the main points from each one. The agent then grouped overlapping ideas, highlighted disagreements, and assembled an organized summary with citations. Claude Code was the suggested option for readers trying the same workflow.
- How it went
- The guide says the agent finished the job in about 18 minutes. The same work was estimated to take 4-5 hours manually. The summaries were useful for deciding which pieces deserved a full read, but they were meant to speed up research rather than replace it.
- Tips
- For long reading lists, build in check-ins so the agent does not stop halfway through. Keep the task focused on extraction and comparison, and make sure every claim in the final document has a source attached.
Try it yourself with Claude Code
You are helping me review [number] articles about [topic]. For each article at [URLs or file paths], extract the main takeaways, note where the articles agree and differ, and draft a clear summary document in [folder]. Include a citation for every factual claim, and make sure each article is cited at least once. If you cannot open an article, say so instead of filling in gaps. Before you do anything that would overwrite files or make irreversible changes, stop and ask me to approve it. Aim for about [length].
Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
