Set up scheduled Cowork tasks for routine work

A writer used Claude Cowork to run six recurring tasks on a schedule, from briefings and cleanup to reporting and price tracking.

What they did
They wrote one task prompt in Claude Cowork, then scheduled it from either the /schedule command or the sidebar form. They picked a repeat pattern such as hourly, daily, weekly, or weekdays, and used it for email and calendar briefings, file sorting, Stripe reports, invoice matching, Apple Notes cleanup, and flight price checks. After the first run, Claude adjusted the prompt based on what it had learned.
How it went
The publicly visible part only explains how to set the tasks up. The detailed prompts and any outcomes from the six tests were placed behind a paywall, so the visible results stop at setup.
Tips
If you attach a task to a local folder, keep the computer powered on and awake. An empty folder makes the job run in the cloud, and the desktop app should be updated before you start.

Try it yourself with Claude Cowork

Help me set up a recurring task in Claude Cowork. Every [hour/day/week/weekday] at [time], [describe the task, such as summarize unread email, sort files in Downloads, compare Stripe activity, match invoices, tidy notes, or track flight prices from [origin] to [destination]]. After each run, save a short report to [folder]. First, show me the plan and the exact actions you would take; if the task could delete, move, send, or submit anything, stop and wait for my approval before doing it. If you learn a better way to do the task after the first run, update the prompt and show me the revised version before using it again.
