Set up invoicing, bill tracking, and email sorting in Cowork

A user had Claude Cowork help automate invoices, monitor state AI bills, and rank emails for reply priority.

What they did
Dean Ball used coding agents to build a workflow for making invoices, sending them, and keeping track of their status. He also had them collect and review proposed state AI legislation. Separately, Nikhil Krishnan spent about an hour with Claude Code to assemble a daily email that surfaced the three messages most worth answering, using a priority score drawn from multiple sources.
How it went
The email digest was working after roughly an hour. Ball said the legislation research should not replace reading the actual bill before writing about it, and he did not give figures for the invoicing work.
Tips
Keep a person in the loop before any message goes out or any invoice is sent. Treat policy summaries as a starting point, not a final source, especially for legal or regulatory work.

Help me automate parts of my weekly admin. First, draft invoices for [clients and amounts] using [template or folder], then show me each one and wait for my approval before sending. Next, check which invoices are unpaid and prepare follow-up reminders for any overdue ones, but pause before anything is sent. Also, each morning, review my inbox at [email account] and rank the 3 messages I most need to answer using a priority score based on [criteria and data sources]; include a short reason for each choice. Before you send, submit, delete, or finalize anything, stop and ask me to confirm.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
