Automate weekly reports and Slack feature intake

A Zapier supervisor agent split report writing and feature-request handling between two sub-agents.

Done with Zapier Agents· Intermediate· Feb 2026

What they did
They set up a supervisor Zapier agent with access to Jira and Slack, then let it hand work off to two sub-agents. One agent gathered Jira information on its own and turned it into a weekly leadership report. The other listened for feature requests sent through a Slack slash command.
How it went
The setup let the team produce leadership reports and capture feature requests without copying tickets by hand or jumping between tools. It removed the need for manual context switching during both workflows.
Tips
Have the agent draft examples first so you can check the format before it starts working for real. If the workflow can trigger a side effect, make it ask for approval before posting, submitting, or logging anything.

Try it yourself with Zapier Agents

Set up a supervisor agent with access to [Jira project] and [Slack channel]. Create one sub-agent that pulls the latest Jira data and writes a weekly leadership update covering progress, blockers, and risks, then drafts it for review. Create a second sub-agent that watches for a Slack slash command, captures new feature requests, and prepares a log entry in [tool]. Before anything is posted, submitted, sent, or saved, show me a sample leadership report and a sample request record and wait for my approval. Use [command name] for the Slack trigger.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
