Set up a daily job-application workflow in n8n

They built an n8n flow that finds matching jobs each day, drafts tailored application materials, and prepares an email for human review.

What they did
They scheduled an n8n workflow to run every day and pull in profile details from places like LinkedIn and a portfolio page through Jina AI. The flow creates search queries, fetches job listings through an API, filters repeats in Google Sheets, and uses AI to rank the strongest openings. For each chosen role, it writes a custom cover letter and can also update a YAML CV in GitHub, then trigger a GitHub Action to turn that into a PDF.
How it went
In the author’s setup, the whole pipeline runs across about 51 nodes. It does not finish the application automatically: the package is emailed to the author, who still applies by hand through the job link because portal submission without an API is described as nearly impossible.
Tips
Treat full auto-submission as optional, not the default. If you only need a ready-to-send packet, you can drop the GitHub CV-editing branch and keep a static PDF instead.

Try it yourself with n8n

Build an n8n workflow that runs every [day/time], searches for [job title] roles in [location] from [job sites or APIs], and compares each listing with my profile from [CV link], [LinkedIn], and [portfolio link]. Use AI to rank the best matches, then create a tailored cover letter and an application-ready CV for each selected job. If you need to edit a CV file, update a YAML version in GitHub and convert it to PDF with a GitHub Action. Before any irreversible step such as sending an email, submitting an application, deleting a draft, or paying a fee, stop and ask me to approve the exact job link and the full application pack. Send the final draft package to [email/Slack] for review, and only continue after I confirm it should be sent.
