- The capture step was straightforward to build, but searching later did not hold up. When they tried to ask what they had saved about a subject two weeks earlier, the system found nothing, so they abandoned it. The thread pointed to semantic search with embeddings or a vector store as a better path than plain Notion lookup.
- Tips
- If you want later recall, plan for retrieval from the start instead of treating the notes app as the search layer. Proactive messages were the trickiest part for one builder; they needed three passes to make that behavior feel natural.
