Build the first version of an app from one prompt

They asked Replit to make a web app around an existing CV-to-job-matching API, but login bugs ate through the free limit before the first sign-in worked.

Done with Replit Agent· Intermediate

What they did
They started with a single prompt asking Replit to create a website on top of an existing CV-to-job-match API, with accounts, authentication, and file uploads. Replit produced the app and then kept revising it after each login failure the poster reported. The poster mostly tested signup and sign-in, copied back 401s and interface errors, and asked for the next fix.
How it went
The app reached a layout they liked, but the basic login flow still failed when the free Agent allowance ran out. By that point, they had gone through about 10 repair cycles. In a later comment, they said they changed tactics and built the full app in Firebase using about 20 Gemini-written prompts in a bit over an hour.
Tips
Repeated debugging can burn through a trial quickly, especially when the agent keeps redeploying after each failed auth attempt. A safer approach is to ask for small changes, then pause for approval before any major rewrite or deployment.

Try it yourself with Replit Agent

Create a web app for [describe your app] that sits in front of [existing API or backend]. Include [accounts/login], [file uploads], and any other core screens I list. Work in small steps: build one piece, test it, and then stop to ask me before you make any major change or redeploy. After each change, check sign-up and sign-in yourself, report what you tested, and only continue if I approve the next step. If you see an error, explain it plainly, fix just that issue, and then re-test before moving on.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
