What they did
Koka Sexton ran Claude Code from a terminal with access to WordPress, Airtable, and Gmail. The agent looked up local news, pulled in source articles, and drafted complete HTML posts. It then used WP-CLI or a script it created to send the posts to WordPress, add featured images, test the HTTP response, and record the outcome. It also checked Airtable and Gmail as part of the workflow.
How it went
He said three articles could be handled in one request, replacing a process that used to take about 90 minutes. The figures came from his own internal benchmarking, not from an outside measurement.
Tips
Build the verification script before letting the agent produce anything, or a bad draft can be published by mistake. It also makes sense to run the agent alongside a person for the first two weeks.

Try it yourself with Claude Code

Use Claude Code to create a workflow for [town/topic] local news. Research recent stories, gather source links, and write [number] short HTML posts with citations. Prepare them in [WordPress site URL] as drafts, set a featured image for each, and record the title and URL in [Airtable/spreadsheet]. Before anything is published, stop and show me the drafts for approval; do not send, publish, or delete anything without my explicit yes. After I approve, publish them, then verify each post loads correctly and log any errors or failed checks.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
