Use Claude Code for everyday admin tasks

They set up Claude Code skills to check trash pickup, arrange a lower-cost inspection, update the calendar, and send regular briefs from messages and email.

What they did
Through a phone-based Claude Code interface, they talked to an assistant that builds skills and described several routine chores they wanted automated. The skills could reach email, calendar, texts, and a city web portal from 2004. One skill scheduled 48-hour briefings with cron, another checked trash pickup details, one located a cheaper car inspection and made the reservation, and another found a bakery and placed the stop and a same-day reminder on the calendar.
How it went
Each task ran as intended. The inspection booking was adjusted afterward by the user, and the bakery stop was added to the calendar.
Tips
For anything that books, sends, or changes an event, have the agent stop and ask before finalizing it. It is also useful to ask for a clear plan when a task draws on multiple sources.
