Use ChatGPT Finance to review accounts and spending

A user connected several financial accounts in ChatGPT and asked for plain-English summaries of spending, card terms, and account balances.

What they did
They went through ChatGPT’s account-connection process and linked a Robinhood card, an American Express card, a Wells Fargo checking account, and brokerage accounts. Once the latest activity had finished syncing, they asked the agent to compare the accounts in everyday language. ChatGPT responded with spending by category and merchant, transaction totals, average purchase amounts, current balances, card APRs, due dates, and any payments or credits it could see.
How it went
The setup was helpful for quick comparisons across cards and accounts. The main limitation was that the first view only showed roughly 30 days of activity, so they created twice-monthly snapshot reports to keep a record for later comparison.
Tips
This works best for up-to-date summaries, not for reconstructing long histories. If you want a comparison baseline, save regular snapshots on the 15th and the last day of each month.

My [checking accounts], [credit cards], and [brokerage accounts] are linked. Look at the last [time period] and summarize my spending by category and by merchant. Also show the transaction count, average transaction amount, current balances, each card’s APR, and upcoming due dates, plus any payments, credits, or odd items you notice. If any action would send, delete, submit, or otherwise change something, stop and ask me to approve it first. After that, give me three concrete ideas for lowering costs or avoiding interest.
