Use an MCP to manage Xiaohongshu posting

A developer connected Claude Code to a custom MCP so it could research topics and upload Xiaohongshu posts without manual work.

What they did
They created an open-source MCP server that initially exposed just two actions: sign-in and posting image-plus-text content. Claude Code then did its own topic research and used the server to push posts to Xiaohongshu. The setup accepted images from local files or web links, and a brand-new account was run on this system for about a week with more than 90% of the process handled automatically. Later on, they expanded it to include search and feed viewing.
How it went
The account ended its first week with more than 6,000 likes and favorites, and early activity was near 1,000 per day. During the second week, performance cooled, and the developer paused the fully automated run.
Tips
Xiaohongshu can mark posts as likely AI-generated, which may cut reach. The platform also keeps post titles to about 20 characters and limits daily posting, and a May 2026 commenter warned about possible account bans.

Try it yourself with Claude Code

Help me set up [agent/tool name] with an MCP server for my Xiaohongshu account about [topic or niche]. Start by reviewing [number] high-performing posts in this area and telling me what they have in common. Then create [number] post drafts in the style of [describe voice], using [local images or image URLs] and [any tags]. Show me each draft and wait for my approval before you publish, delete, submit, or make any other irreversible change. After I approve, publish the posts and then stop.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
