Use an agent to prospect and draft outreach for web design leads

Chris Wozniczek had Devin look for leads, create sample sites, and prepare tailored cold emails for website services.

What they did
Chris set Devin up with a GitHub repo that held the workflow and decision rules, plus access to Linear, Slack, and other tools. From there, Devin was meant to search for businesses and freelance gigs on its own, build ready-to-show websites, and write personalized cold emails to pitch website work. Chris handled the connections between tools and mostly used Slack and Linear while getting the system running just before the weekend.
How it went
The project has not produced outcomes yet because it is still very fresh. One issue Chris noted was that the email accounts should have been warmed up earlier.
Tips
If you want to try this, give the agent a clear repo or playbook for how to decide, plus access to the tools it needs. Warm up sending accounts first, and make sure it pauses for approval before any emails go out.

Try it yourself with Devin

Find [number] [type of business] or freelance leads in [city/region] that look like they need a better website. For each one, gather basic details, draft a short offer email tailored to that lead, and create a simple sample homepage or mockup that matches their business. Put the leads, drafts, and links in [spreadsheet/doc]. Stop before sending anything, and ask me to approve each email and any live outreach before you send it.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
