Use an agent to clean up a year of finances

A CPA Bot organized statements, receipts, and tax records, then prepared amendment guidance.

What they did
The user handed a custom CPA Bot the keys to several finance tools and their note archive. It gathered statements automatically, checked the 2024 return against IRS data, found duplicate charges and wrong classifications, and paired receipts such as Lowe's purchases with the right transactions. It also traced money movements, separated rental spending into repair and improvement buckets, and worked through thousands of scanned notes to label receipts and reconstruct cost basis using bank data, Venmo memo lines, a deed, and a shared spreadsheet.
How it went
The cleanup saved more than 100 hours. It also spotted a missed Morgan Stanley interest item on a 1099 before any IRS notice, and it produced import-ready correction files plus TurboTax amendment instructions.
Tips
This is a strong fit for a once-a-year catch-up, not routine monthly bookkeeping. Require the agent to stop for approval before any filing, payment, deletion, or account change.

Help me act as a bookkeeper for [tax year]. While I remain signed in, review [brokerage accounts, Venmo, accounting software, and note archive], gather the statements you need, and sort every transaction into [my categories]. Match entries to receipts and notes, compare the results with my filed return and IRS records, and mark anything duplicated, missing, or placed in the wrong category. If an amended return appears necessary, create a simple checklist for [tax software] and prepare files I can import. Do not submit, file, delete, pay, or change anything without asking me first.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
