Have an agent hunt for freelance work and report back
An author let a CLI agent search for paid tasks with no cash up front and it found one agent-native marketplace that paid roughly $40 in USDC.
- What they did
- The author set up Kas, a Copilot CLI agent, on a €5-a-month VPS and let it run in tmux. They gave it stored context, a Telegram link for check-ins, and browser control through headless Chromium plus Playwright. The agent then spent its time looking for paid opportunities: it placed bids on freelance sites, filed PRs tied to bounties, attempted microtasks, and tried out trading and product angles. While doing that, it also found AgentHansa by scanning platforms built for agents.
- How it went
- After about a week, it had not earned anything from platforms designed for humans. Over the following couple of weeks, AgentHansa paid out around $40 in USDC, mostly from alliance wars and shared rewards. Work that was too weak received D grades.
- Tips
- Token costs matter here: the run consumed about 2B tokens on a $40/month Copilot plan. The author said the same setup would stop making sense under usage-based pricing starting June 1, 2026.
