Use Alexa+ to reorder a recent Amazon item

A commenter tried to have Alexa+ repeat a recent Amazon purchase, but it could not locate the item in their order history.

Done with Alexa+· Beginner· Jan 2026

What they did
They asked Alexa+ by voice to reorder something they had bought on Amazon recently. When the assistant said it could not find the item, they checked the Amazon app on their phone and confirmed the order was there. They then tried the same request on a legacy Alexa device in another room.
How it went
Alexa+ did not complete the reorder. The older Alexa device handled the same wording and finished the task, which led the commenter to question Alexa+ for basic commands.
Tips
For anything that depends on order history, double-check the purchase in the Amazon app before retrying. If one device fails, trying a different Alexa device may produce a different result. Before any reorder is placed, ask the assistant to show the item details and wait for confirmation.

Help me reorder a recent Amazon purchase by voice. Look through my order history for [item name or description] that I bought around [date]. Before you place anything, tell me the item you found, the price, and the delivery address you would use, then stop and ask for my approval. If you cannot find an exact match, list the closest orders you found and do not submit anything until I confirm which one to use.
