Try several phone agents on one dental booking task

A poster compared eight AI phone tools by having each one attempt the same child dentist appointment call.

What they did
The poster used Claude Code to hook up eight phone-agent tools from their documentation, then gave every one the same assignment: ring the poster’s own cell and try to secure a child’s dental checkup. They played the receptionist, limited openings to weekdays after 3 p.m., started with impossible times, made the agent spell a hard last name, and finally offered two acceptable slots to choose from. The poster listened to the calls and later checked each tool’s API output.
How it went
Only a few agents reached the end of the booking flow. PlaceCall was the only one that handled the reservation correctly on a real phone line with very little setup, Retell worked only through a browser call, and Ring-a-Ding did book but not cleanly. Three of the eight tools never placed an actual phone call, and the whole round of testing stretched over roughly 1.5 days.
Tips
Expect setup work to take longer than the actual call test. Some services needed a card, ID checks, or about $10 before outbound calling was enabled.

Try it yourself with Claude computer use

Use [AI calling tool] to contact [dentist name or dentists near zip] and check whether they can book a child’s checkup. The appointment must fit [weekday/time rules] and fall within [date range]. First find the office phone number and any online booking option, then prepare a word-for-word call plan and the slots you can confirm. If you reach any point where a form, payment, sending, deleting, or final booking is about to happen, stop and ask me to approve before you continue. If the office offers bad times first, keep narrowing until you have two valid choices, then pause for my decision.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
