Turn Telegram voice notes into trip plans
Use n8n to read a Telegram voice message, pull out trip details, and return flight and hotel options.
- What they did
- A developer set up an n8n flow that starts when a Telegram bot receives either text or a voice note. OpenAI turns the audio into text, then DeepSeek finds the destination, travel dates, and hotel needs. SerpAPI searches for flights and hotels, including times, airlines, prices, and a checkout date calculated by the workflow, and DeepSeek formats everything into a travel plan sent back in Telegram.
- How it went
- The setup was described, but no test results were shared. The writeup also did not include timing, accuracy, or usage outcomes.
- Tips
- You need Telegram, OpenAI, SerpAPI, and DeepSeek access, plus an n8n instance that can accept webhook calls over HTTPS. The workflow prompt can be adjusted, but it should stop for approval before any booking or payment step.
Try it yourself with n8n
Set up an n8n workflow for business travel planning from Telegram. When I send a text message or voice note like: "I need to be in [city] from [start date] to [end date], and I want a hotel near [area]", do all of the following: transcribe any audio, extract the city, dates, and lodging preferences, search for flights and hotels with [your search API], and calculate the hotel checkout date from the trip dates. Then draft a clean summary with the best [number] flight options and [number] hotel options, including links. Before you do anything that would book, pay, send, delete, or submit, pause and ask me to approve it. Return the final plan in Telegram.
Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
