Turn an animation spec into a promo prototype
An xAI designer used bots to draft a motion prototype in a local playground and to populate Figma cards and logos.
- What they did
- John Bai gave a motion bot a production animation spec and asked it to construct a local playground from that source, rather than tracing over the idea loosely. He adjusted the pacing, spring behavior, and easing by hand, then sent brief side-by-side feedback so the bot could run the animation again each time. He also had a Figma bot work through the Figma MCP to place card content and brand marks using his existing components and templates.
- How it went
- The final motion showed the character entering the scene, noticing the window, and landing with a bounce using the production asset. Figma Bro filled in 20 starter-bot cards and added tool logos. No figures were given for time or cost.
- Tips
- If you want the motion to match production closely, start from the actual asset spec instead of a rough recreation. For layout help, point the bot at your current components and templates so it can populate them before you review the result.
Try it yourself with Grok Bot
I’m building a promo for [product or launch]. Use this animation spec or asset description: [paste spec]. Create a small localhost playground I can interact with, then handle any Figma work you can do from my existing [components/templates], such as filling cards or placing logos. After each version, stop and ask for my approval before doing anything irreversible, including sending, publishing, deleting, submitting, or paying. When finished, show the prototype and list the next steps you’d recommend.
Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
