Prepare a Replit app for Google Play release

A developer used Replit to build four Android apps and get them approved for Google Play with help from generated build workflows.

Done with Replit Agent· Advanced· Dec 2025

What they did
They worked in Replit for around four months on four separate apps, using Replit’s agent along with Claude and occasionally Gemini to map out features, answer questions, and solve release problems. For one Replit React app, they chose a PWA-style path instead of Capacitor, then asked the agent to create the GitHub Actions YAML files for the build process. When the agent stalled or broke things, they made a new remix at major stages and kept moving from there.
How it went
Google Play approved every app. They said they spent about $400 in Replit in total, and Google’s developer account cost them roughly $25. They also ran into false starts: the agent sometimes gave misleading answers, repeated itself, and tests in Android Studio still missed issues that later showed up on a real handset.
Tips
Check the install and build on an actual Android phone before you submit. If the agent starts spinning in circles or the codebase gets messy, pause and branch from a clean remix.

Try it yourself with Replit Agent

I have [app name] in Replit and want to ship it to Google Play as an Android app. Help me map out the release path, generate the GitHub Actions YAML for a signed build, and list the secrets and Play Console details I need to fill in. Show me the plan first, then stop and wait for my approval before any action that would upload, publish, submit, delete, or pay for anything. Also tell me how to verify the build on [device type] before release, and keep working until I have a package I can upload.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
