Find local businesses with poor reviews

An n8n agent scans Google Maps reviews, filters weak feedback, and sends a short lead list to the user by email or Slack.

Done with n8n· Intermediate

What they did
They put an n8n AI agent behind a hosted chat window and asked it to take a country name as input. The agent then used Bright Data tools to capture Google Maps review snapshots, pulled the data back in, and sorted for businesses with reviews at 3 stars or below that had no owner response. It also condensed the top five matches and could share them by email or Slack on request.
How it went
The workflow was built as a challenge demo and was not meant to become a product. The sales-script generator is turned off, and there were no lead or conversion figures reported.
Tips
Snapshotting through Bright Data helped avoid repeated Google Places and Reviews calls for each place_id, which the author says can trigger blocks fast. Check each node’s documentation before assembling something similar.

Try it yourself with n8n

Build an n8n workflow that takes [country or city] as input, finds [type of local business] in Google Maps, and checks for recent reviews of [1-3] stars with no owner reply. Summarize the five best matches with the business name, review text, and a short note about why they look worth contacting. Pause and ask me to approve before you send anything by email or Slack, and do not contact any business directly. Use Bright Data or another approved data source, and show me the results in a clear list.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
