Create songs and studio tooling by chat

Claude Code helped a developer write music, lyrics, and Bitwig tools, with one honky-tonk track made entirely in conversation.

What they did
A developer used Claude Code with Claude 4.5 models to build songs, draft lyrics, and assemble the software needed to produce them. They connected it to Bitwig Studio through custom utilities, including a search tool for Bitwig content and the Jeannie controller framework. For one honky-tonk piece, they kept the whole creative exchange inside Claude and did not open Bitwig until the end, when they loaded in the generated material.
How it went
The project gathered five tracks, among them a symphony finale and a 12-song concept album, with MIDI and lyrics posted on GitHub. The skipper and voxel projects still have no sample audio, and no numbers were reported beyond the song count.
Tips
Expect to do your own setup if you want the agent to work with a DAW like Bitwig. If the agent is preparing anything that would overwrite files, export audio, or publish a result, pause and approve it first.

Help me make a song in [genre/style] with [mood/instruments]. Start by asking what details you need. Then work out lyrics, arrangement, and production steps, and help me prepare any files for [DAW/tool]. Before you write, export, send, delete, or submit anything irreversible, stop and ask for my approval first. If you need custom integration, explain what to build or configure for [DAW/tool].

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
