Run a shared video edit with coding agents

Kino let Luke and Donald work with coding agents on one video timeline at the same time.

What they did
Luke used Kino, an Electron app for code-driven video work, to assemble the launch video. In that editor, changes to the timeline, visual effects, comments, and 3D pieces are all handled as code. He had Claude restyle the project to match a macOS Leopard install disk, then kept more than five agents busy at once; one focused on LUT color work and Donald's agents handled rotoscoping.
How it went
The launch video was finished inside Kino with agents and two people collaborating live on the same timeline. No time savings or quality metrics were reported. Kino currently ships only as an Electron app.
Tips
This approach fits projects where you can split the edit into narrow tasks and let agents work in parallel. The free version includes MCP access, while Pro is required for unlimited MCP tool calls, share links, and team editing.

Try it yourself with Codex

I’m creating a [short video / launch clip / demo] in [project name]. Help me plan the edit as a series of scenes, generate the code for each scene and the transitions between them, and set up separate passes for [grading / rotoscoping / motion effects / 3D]. After each major step, show me a preview and wait for my approval before doing anything irreversible, including exporting for release, deleting content, sending a link, or submitting the final version. Also list the items I should review next.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
