Collect meeting minutes into yearly text files
A developer used Claude in Chrome to copy three years of meeting minutes into text files for NotebookLM.
- What they did
- With the W3C minutes archive open, they asked Claude in Chrome to open each meeting page from 2022 through 2024 and pull the exact text into markdown code blocks. They tested one meeting first, then changed the task to one month at a time when a full year proved too large. After each batch, they pasted the text into a yearly file and checked a sample by hand.
- How it went
- They ended up with three text files, one for each year, and loaded them into NotebookLM. Spot checks did not turn up errors. The work took 3โ4 hours across three sessions, and one usage limit caused a four-hour wait.
- Tips
- For long archive jobs, break the work into small date ranges and verify a few entries before moving on. Plan for pauses if the tool hits a usage limit or slows down on bigger batches.
Try it yourself with Claude in Chrome
Open [archive page] and collect the meeting minutes for [group or body] from [start year] through [end year]. Work on one month at a time, and for each meeting paste the exact text into a markdown code block. Put the results into separate text files named for each year in [folder]. After each month, stop and ask me to review the batch before you continue. If you cannot find or read a meeting, list it clearly. Do not send, delete, or submit anything without my approval first.
