What they did
People used Claude Code for prospecting support instead of writing. One workflow looked up a lead’s site and recent LinkedIn activity, filled in company and contact details, pulled out useful signals, drafted an opening message, and sent weaker versions to a person for review. Another setup tied together Apollo, Clay, ZeroBounce, LinkedIn, job postings, email, and LinkedIn inboxes with MCP and PhantomBuster so the system could watch for changes, enrich records, update fields, and prepare replies on a schedule.
How it went
They said the biggest win was cutting out manual lead research and sorting. One team used the process internally for three to four months before packaging it as a product. A recurring issue was that inbox replies and other sensitive interactions still needed human checking, and Clay-driven enrichment could get expensive fast.
Tips
A narrow first pass is easier to control, especially if you start with enrichment plus first-draft generation. Keep anything that sends, submits, or replies behind a review step.

Try it yourself with Claude Code

You are helping me with prospect research and CRM maintenance. For each lead in [file/export/source], look up the company website and recent public signals such as LinkedIn activity or job posts, then fill in missing details like [industry, headcount, title, email status] and draft a short CRM note plus a suggested first message. Save all changes to [output file/report] and show me a summary of what you found. Do not update [CRM name], send any messages, or take any irreversible action until I review your draft and explicitly approve it.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
