Use Gemini to handle browser tasks in the background

A Reddit user lets Gemini’s Chrome agent work through browser queues in a separate tab while they do other things.

Done with Gemini· Intermediate

What they did
They gave Gemini’s Chrome browser agent a set process and let it run in its own tab, even while they switched to other tabs or windows. In their moderation workflow, they had it review report queues, follow rules they provided, ask questions when a case was unclear, and use saved removal messages that note Gemini was involved. When something looked severe, the agent set it aside for human review instead of taking final action.
How it went
They said it cut down a large moderation backlog and generally did a good job. They also noted a few limits: safety checks sometimes block actions, the agent cannot ban users, and the feature is only available to Pro or Ultra subscribers in some countries.
Tips
Keep risky decisions manual and use the agent mainly for triage, drafting, and sorting. Build in a stop point so it asks before any irreversible action, such as sending, submitting, deleting, or paying.

Try it yourself with Gemini

In Chrome, help me with [browser task] while I keep using other tabs. Follow this process: [steps or rules]. If you run into an unclear case, stop and ask me what to do next. Before you send any message, submit any form, delete anything, or make any purchase, pause and ask for my approval. When you finish, give me a short summary of what you did and anything that still needs my attention.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
