Use an agent to place a DoorDash order from the terminal

DoorDash’s dd-cli beta lets an agent search, compare, and check out on food orders with real payment details.

Done with Claude· Intermediate

What they did
DoorDash’s CTO introduced dd-cli, a command-line tool that ties directly into DoorDash’s ordering system. In a public demo, Claude used it to look through stores, weigh available deals, and finish a complete order without human help. The setup is aimed at developers using the terminal rather than the consumer app.
How it went
The demo ended with Claude placing the order from start to finish. Access is limited to invite-only early users, and there is no public launch date yet.
Tips
This is only open to U.S. and Canadian macOS developers on a waitlist, and applicants need to share a social profile plus a short description of how they plan to use it. For any order, make the agent stop and ask for approval before it submits payment.

Try it yourself with Claude Code

Act as my DoorDash ordering assistant in the terminal using [tool name]. First, help me connect my account and confirm you can access DoorDash. Then search for [cuisine or dish] near [address] with a budget of [$amount], compare a few options, and prepare one order. Before you place anything, pause and show me the restaurant, items, delivery address, fees, and total, and wait for my approval. After I approve, place the order.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
