Use an agent to manage files in one folder

A developer built a folder-bound desktop agent that can read and write files, but stops to ask before each change.

What they did
They built an open-source desktop app to see how Claude Code behaves. The agent is limited to a user-picked folder, can inspect and create files there, and must get approval before every edit. Shell commands stay off unless the user switches them on.
How it went
The app is an open-source option with no account login or telemetry. It can use Claude, OpenAI, Google, or local models, and it can keep data on disk with local inference. Limits remain: it handles text files only, has no Windows sandbox, ships unsigned builds, and does nothing after the app is closed.
Tips
This works best when you want file cleanup or organization in one folder and are willing to review each change. Treat it as partial isolation, not full sandboxing.

Try it yourself with Claude Code

You are working only inside [folder path]. First, scan the folder and tell me what files you found and what you think should be organized, renamed, summarized, or cleaned up. Then wait for my approval before making any change. For any proposed move, rename, edit, deletion, or other irreversible action, show the exact files and the exact planned change list and ask me to confirm. If I approve, carry out only those changes, then report what you changed and how I can undo it.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
