Use agents to score local businesses for web design leads

They set up an agent workflow that finds nearby businesses, checks their sites, and ranks the best prospects for outreach.

What they did
They built a chain of six agents in OpenClaw on a low-cost always-on server, with ChatGPT or Claude plus tools such as Google Places API, Twilio, and ElevenLabs. One agent handled prospecting by taking a city and business category, pulling matching businesses from Google Maps, checking which ones had websites, reviewing basic speed and mobile use, and pushing businesses with no site to the top of the list. After that, other agents worked on issue diagnosis, demo-site and video creation, email and SMS follow-up, and call prep.
How it went
The main output was a fresh daily list of ranked businesses to contact, so they did not need to hunt for leads by hand. The thread did not show any conversion, income, or close-rate figures, and commenters kept asking for evidence that the setup produces sales.
Tips
If you try this, start with lead scoring and leave outreach turned off until you have reviewed the list. Budget for the server plus any separate paid tools you use, since the cheap machine was only part of the cost.

Look up [business type] in [city or region] and assemble a list of at least [number] matches. For each business, note the name, address, phone number, review score, review count, whether it has a website, and any signs the site is slow or not mobile friendly. Sort the businesses from strongest to weakest fit for my [web design] offer, with businesses lacking a website at the top, and give one short reason for each placement. When the list is finished, stop and wait for my approval before you message, email, call, delete, or submit anything.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
