Turn blood test PDFs into a charting app

A developer used Claude to convert MyChart lab PDFs into a browser tool that tracked values over time and marked out-of-range results.

What they did
Matt Stockton gathered several recent blood test PDFs from MyChart, where the layout can change across tests and years. He sent them to Claude in one prompt along with his age and gender, and asked for an interactive browser tool that would show abnormalities and useful next steps. He also told Claude it could ask questions before getting started.
How it went
Claude produced a web app that plotted the lab results over time, called out abnormal values, and added broad health notes. The whole thing took about five minutes. Stockton said the result would likely improve with a more detailed prompt.
Tips
This works best with strong human review, especially for medical data. Treat it as a helper, not a doctor or a finished clinical system.

Try it yourself with Claude Code

I have several blood test PDFs in [folder or file path]. Pull out each lab result, its date, and its reference range, then make a simple local web app that charts each marker across time and marks any values outside the range. If anything is unclear, ask me before you build. Pause and ask for my approval before you do anything irreversible, including sending data anywhere, deleting files, submitting forms, or making payments. Keep everything on my computer.
