Triage a founder inbox with Claude Code

Connect Gmail and other MCP servers so Claude Code can sort mail, draft replies, and gather meeting context before you review anything.

What they did
A team hooked up a Gmail MCP server to Claude Code, along with shell, file system, and MCP access. With that in place, the agent checked the founder’s inbox, added labels, and wrote draft replies. They also added Calendar, Slack, and Notion MCP servers so a "prep me for tomorrow" command could pull together context for upcoming meetings.
How it went
They describe founder inbox triage as the most useful non-coding task Claude Code handles. They do not give any performance numbers. The tradeoff is setup friction: every extra service needs its own MCP server, and browser tasks plus fully unattended runs still have limits.
Tips
Plan for setup time if you want several tools connected, since each one must be installed and signed in separately. Keep actions reviewable, especially for messages, deletions, or other irreversible steps.

Try it yourself with Claude Code

You are helping me manage my inbox. Using my connected Gmail MCP server, review the last [number] emails in [inbox or label], then assign each one one of these labels: [label list]. For messages that need a reply, draft a response in my tone and save it as a draft. Do not send, delete, archive, or submit anything yet. First show me a table with the email sender, subject, proposed label, and draft reply, then pause and ask for my approval before taking any irreversible action.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
