Run a small scanner business with AI help
They let Grok Bot launch a scanner for AI-built apps, while the human handled approvals and account access.
- What they did
- They gave an AI agent named Angie a single assignment: create a scanner for apps made with AI. The poster stayed in a board-like role, so any spending, public messaging, or account actions that only they could perform had to wait for approval. In roughly four hours, the agent reviewed rival products, picked a business name, verified domain and trademark options, assembled the site and scanning tool, connected Stripe, set up the brand and social profiles, and brought in three AI workers for outreach, review, and security research. The poster also tested some of the scan output and recommended Google dorks for finding prospects each night.
- How it went
- The business was live by day 2 and had already fixed a 10-minute homepage outage. Pricing was changed so scans were free while remediation work cost $29, but revenue was still $0 and almost every scan came from the team itself. Cash outlay was about $10 for the domain and $5 a month for hosting, though it also relied on the poster’s existing $300/month Grok Bot plan.
- Tips
- The hard part was still human direction, especially for approvals and getting attention. If you copy this setup, define exactly what the agent can do alone and what must come back to you first.
Try it yourself with Claude Code
Take the role of operator for a small security scanner business that checks AI-built apps. You also have three AI teammates: one focused on getting users, one on quality control, and one on security finding. Start by laying out a 30-day roadmap with weekly targets and a checklist for each day. Then set up the workspace, including a short job description for each teammate and a tracker for income, site uptime, and unresolved issues. Before you do anything that would cost money, publish content, message someone, erase data, or submit a form, stop and ask for my approval. For today, tell me what each role should do next and what you would verify first.
