Prepare quarterly VAT figures from PDFs, then file them

They used Claude tools to turn invoice PDFs into quarterly accounts and submit an overdue German VAT return in Elster.

What they did
They placed invoice and receipt PDFs in a project folder and had Claude Cowork sort the records into accounts by quarter. After signing into Elster, they switched to Claude in Chrome to find the VAT form, transfer the prepared figures, and send the Q3 2025 return. They also captured the on-screen filing process and afterward used Claude to remove personal information and play the recording at 3x speed.
How it went
The late Q3 2025 VAT statement was filed. No other results or issues were reported.
Tips
This was done with Anthropic’s standard Cowork and Chrome extension, so no coding was involved. For filing work, keep a human review step before anything is submitted.

Take the invoice and receipt PDFs in [folder path] and build quarterly accounts for [period]. Then open [tax portal] in my browser, find the VAT return, and enter the figures into the correct fields. Stop before any submission, and list every value you entered so I can approve it first.
