List unanswered Gmail messages from the last week

They used Devin to make a Gmail assistant that shows recent emails that still need replies.

Done with DevinCursor· Advanced

What they did
The writer wanted a replacement for Attio’s unanswered-mail view, so they asked Devin to work against the Gmail API. Devin had trouble with login setup, so the writer handled that piece in Cursor. After that, Devin built the logic for messages from the last seven days that still needed a response, kept it to Primary inbox mail, checked the Gmail docs in its own browser, made a simple interface, and put it online. The writer then had it add Supabase storage and an Ignore button.
How it went
By the end of one late-night session, they had a functioning query, a front end, and a public deployment. The Supabase part took more than an hour, though the writer said they could normally do that setup in under 10 minutes.
Tips
This kind of build can move quickly, but hosted agents may create ongoing infrastructure costs. It’s worth keeping the scope narrow and watching what the deployment spins up.

Try it yourself with Devin

Help me build a read-only Gmail assistant for [account or workspace] that finds emails from the last [number] days that I have not replied to. Use the Gmail API, limit results to [Primary inbox / specific labels], and show sender, subject, date, and a link for each message. Before any irreversible action such as sending, deleting, or submitting changes, stop and ask me to confirm. First, guide me through the authentication setup, then generate the code, then help me test it, and finally help me publish it only after I approve the deployment.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
