What they did
A poster spent a day trying Claude’s Computer Use on a Mac. The agent would grab a screenshot, interpret what was on screen, then click and type to move through tasks such as renaming and sorting more than 40 files, copying figures from a PDF into a Numbers sheet, filling one web form eight times, and pulling notes together from five browser tabs. When it drifted between windows or needed help, the poster stepped in to correct it.
How it went
It handled the 40+ file task correctly in about five minutes and was said to be slow but dependable on data entry. One of the form entries had a date-format error, and the poster judged it to be around 80% reliable on simple work and 50% on harder workflows. Longer, multi-app jobs could fail quietly, and it did not cope well with captchas, 2FA, time-sensitive actions, or dangerous clicks.
Tips
Use it for chores where you can leave the computer alone for a while. Keep a close eye on anything involving logins, payments, deletion, or submission, since it can miss small interface details.

Try it yourself with Claude computer use

Use my computer to complete this task: [describe the task clearly]. Work one step at a time, and after each step, check the screen and tell me what changed. If anything looks unclear, stop and ask before guessing. Before you submit, send, pay, delete, or make any irreversible change, pause and show me exactly what you plan to do, then wait for my approval. Finish when [describe the visible end state or file/result] is on screen.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
