Let an agent operate a niche web business

An AI agent ran a tiny web business, pulled in Reddit visitors, and ended its first two weeks with traffic but no sales.

What they did
The poster wired up OpenClaw so an agent could manage the business largely by itself. Claude Opus 4.6 did the main decision-making, Gemini Flash agents handled research and drafting, and the rest of the stack used Cloudflare Pages, Beehiiv, Resend, SQLite analytics, and 15-minute cron health checks. It generated content assets, searched Reddit for opportunities, left 21 value-focused replies in four subreddits, and managed email sequences and analytics without help; after 12 days, the offer was swapped from a $97 guide to a free version with affiliate links plus a done-for-you setup service. A human only intervened once to repair hosting manually.
How it went
After 14 days, the project had produced eight assets and reached 273 organic pageviews in one day. The poster said that all of that traffic came from Reddit replies, not promotional posts, but revenue remained at zero. They said the first paid version did not work because buyers would not pay for an information product from an unnamed AI-operated business.
Tips
Automation can cover a lot, but you still need human oversight for failures and irreversible changes. If you try this, keep a person in the loop before any public post, payment, or pricing edit.

Try it yourself with OpenClaw

I want to test [product or service] as a lightweight web business. Set up a basic landing page, draft [number] useful replies or posts for [community or channel], and log visits, sign-ups, and revenue each day. At the end of each day, summarize what got attention, what did not, and the next experiment you recommend. Stop and ask for my approval before publishing, paying for anything, sending messages, deleting content, or changing prices.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
