Create a nightly GitHub sync with a self-check

Hermes converted a one-line request into a scheduled GitHub backup and added an hourly check to keep the timing aligned with central time.

What they did
A user messaged Hermes in Telegram with one short instruction about copying changes to a GitHub repository each night at midnight central time. Hermes pulled up its GitHub tools, ran terminal checks, built the scheduled sync and a new nightly-github-sync skill, and then checked the job list to confirm it had been added. It also saved the setup in memory.md.
How it went
The schedule was registered and verified. Since the Docker container uses UTC, Hermes chose an hourly task that compares against central time so the automation does not drift with daylight-saving changes. The source does not include any execution logs or counts.
Tips
Store the GitHub token with hermes config set over SSH, not through chat. Use a fine-grained token that only has contents read/write access for one repository.

Try it yourself with Hermes Agent

Keep [folder path] backed up to [GitHub repo URL] each night at [time] in [time zone]. Set up the scheduled automation, make it work correctly across UTC and local time, and add an hourly check that confirms the most recent push completed. If it fails, notify me on [Telegram / another channel]. Before the first upload, show me the files you plan to include and pause for my approval; after I approve, run a test and confirm the commit appears in GitHub.
