What they did
A non-developer set Claude Cowork loose on a local project folder and asked it to sort files by company. With plain-language instructions, it fetched Adyen’s reports, transcript files, and yfinance figures, then wrote a business summary, built an Excel valuation file with a three-case DCF and peer comparison set, and created both an investment thesis memo and a one-page note. It also added a weekly monitoring task and was saved as a reusable skill.
How it went
The Adyen run finished in less than 15 minutes. Later, the same skill turned out an IREN memo and model quickly. One commenter warned that transcript and filing retrieval can fail for some other stocks.
Tips
The data pull itself took about 5 minutes, mostly because transcripts were hard to find. Check the plan before you let the skill proceed, and remember the weekly task only works when the machine is on and Claude is running.

I want to analyze [company name] and turn it into a full investment memo package. Use [folder path] as the working directory and create a separate structure for this company. Collect the newest annual report, the latest earnings transcript, and yfinance market data. Then produce: a brief business overview, an Excel-style valuation workbook with three DCF scenarios and peer comps, a thesis memo, and a one-page summary. Also set up a weekly follow-up workflow for tracking this company. Stop and ask for my approval before any step that would send, submit, delete, or otherwise make an irreversible change.
