Use Replit Agent to build a searchable company map

A software engineer had Replit Agent turn Wefunder listings into a searchable Leaflet map, then fixed bad API results by loading the data themselves.

What they did
Makena Kong gave Replit Agent a single request: make a map of funded Wefunder brick-and-mortar companies. The agent handled setup, installed the needed packages, built the map interface with Leaflet, and put the site online. When the API kept surfacing the wrong companies, Kong pulled the data from the Explore page herself and hardcoded it, then used a few follow-up prompts to tweak the interface.
How it went
The project finished in about 3 hours and cost around $22. Kong estimated it would have taken 4–5 hours to do manually. Search still needed more work once credits ran low, and API debugging plus repeated reloads used most of the budget.
Tips
Share any private API endpoint details before the agent starts. Small UI edits were cheap, but often faster to make directly by hand than to prompt for them.
