Build a daily work plan from calendar, tickets, email, and docs

A developer made a local dashboard that reads work sources together and turns them into a prioritized day plan.

What they did
Kim Maida built Todaygent, a chat-based dashboard connected to an MCP server. It pulls data from Calendar, Gmail, Linear, Drive, and other sources at the same time, ranks items, and stores the results in a local JSON file. The agent can only view data, and it may only clear or reorder items locally after asking first.
How it went
She now uses it every day. Loading the dashboard takes about 150–250 milliseconds longer because of token exchange. At first, the agent pulled the same data again, dropped links, and claimed it could do things it could not; a more detailed system prompt fixed those issues.
Tips
If you try this, keep the tool read-only and make it ask before any local changes to priorities. Expect the prioritization to need tuning over time, especially if your sources change often.

Help me plan my workday across [Google Calendar], [ticket tracker], [email inbox], and [docs]. Pull today's meetings, open or assigned tickets, and messages or documents that need attention, then rank them by urgency and impact. Draft a time-blocked schedule and a short list of suggested replies or follow-ups. Before you change any priorities, dismiss anything, send a message, submit a form, delete anything, or make any other irreversible action, pause and ask for my approval first.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
