Ask Slack to sort out flight dates
Dots was linked to Slack and asked to compare flight dates, but it was still working on them after a minute.
- What they did
- Mark Kashef set up Dots in Slack in roughly three clicks: he authenticated, chose a workspace, and granted access. He then asked it to help with a trip from Montreal to Johannesburg and to use its own computer for the search. Since the app only showed that it was thinking, he checked the machine himself and found it on the Emirates site.
- How it went
- Even after a minute, it still had not settled on dates. He expected a regular Codex run to have returned a short list by then, and decided the change was not worthwhile.
- Tips
- When an agent does not surface progress, inspect the remote computer directly so you know whether it is moving at all. Also, any Slack connection you made in Codex has to be created again in Dots.
Try it yourself with Dots
Link [agent] to my Slack workspace, then help me compare flight options for [origin] to [destination] within [date range]. Use your own computer to review fares across several days for a trip of [number] nights, then stop and ask for my approval before you send, submit, pay, or book anything. Post the top three date choices with prices and links in Slack.
Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
