Use Devin to turn tasks into ready-to-review PRs
Devin can take product work, implement it, and hand back a pull request for human review.
- What they did
- A founder had Devin pick up bugs, features, and refactors from Slack, Linear, Jira, or Devin’s website. The agent wrote the code and returned a PR that someone else could inspect before it was merged. At ChatPRD, Claire Vo said it also handled code review, documentation edits, and sometimes all of the code in each PR.
- How it went
- Vo described Devin as ChatPRD’s #2 contributor, with only her ahead of it. Sahil Lavingia said it was Gumroad’s biggest code contributor, with over 1,500 merged PRs, or roughly 10 per day. Both numbers came from founder statements and were not independently verified.
- Tips
- This works best when the task can be framed as a discrete repo change with a clear review step. If you use it for real work, plan to check the diff and test output before anything is submitted.
Try it yourself with Devin
In [repo or workspace], take on [bug, feature, or refactor] from [Slack thread, Linear ticket, Jira item, or web task]. Inspect the relevant files, outline your plan, then implement the change, update tests and docs if needed, and run [test command]. Before you submit, open, push, delete, or otherwise finalize anything, stop and show me the diff, test results, and PR draft so I can approve or revise it.
Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
