Turn tickets into code changes and draft the PR
Stripe uses in-house coding agents to carry tasks from ticket to reviewable code, then humans check the result.
- What they did
- Stripe says its internal Minions agents take a task all the way through implementation. They produce a code change end to end, after which a person reviews it. The public page available for this example only included the post title and short summary, so it did not show the build details behind the system.
- How it went
- Stripe says Minions account for more than 1,000 merged pull requests each week. No other metrics were shared, and no failures were described.
- Tips
- Give the agent a single ticket, a clear repo location, and explicit instructions to run tests before showing the patch. Add a hard stop before any push, PR creation, or other irreversible step.
Try it yourself with Codex
Use this ticket: [paste ticket text]. Work in [repo path or URL] and make the needed code change on a new branch. Run the existing tests and linters, repair any failures, and then show me the diff plus a draft pull request description. Stop and ask for my approval before you push, open the PR, delete anything, or take any other irreversible action.
Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
