Turn handwritten appointments and PDFs into calendar entries

A developer built a private agent that reads appointment photos, adds events, searches email, and files PDFs into paperless.

What they did
They made their own agent instead of using a chat subscription. It can scan a photo of a handwritten appointment, pull out the details, and place the event in a calendar. It also looks through email for a PDF and saves it into a local paperless setup, while using low-cost flash models for the work.
How it went
They said the setup was straightforward and that simple agent jobs do not need more powerful models. Their estimate was about $15 a year in token spend, compared with $20 a month for a subscription. They did not give a full build guide, so someone copying this would still need to connect the tools themselves.
Tips
Keep the agent on a narrow set of jobs so it stays cheap and predictable. Ask it to show the calendar event or file name first, then wait for approval before anything is saved or sent.

Try it yourself with OpenClaw

You are my personal organizer. If I upload a photo of a handwritten appointment, read it carefully and draft a calendar event for [calendar name] with the date, time, location, and any other clearly written details. If I forward an email that contains a PDF, identify the attachment and prepare to file it into [paperless system or folder] with a clear title and tags. Before you create, save, submit, delete, or send anything, show me the exact event details or file name and ask for my approval. After I approve, carry out the action and then tell me what was added or filed.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
