Build and test a Telegram RPG bot with AI
A non-coding project manager used Claude Code to create, deploy, and rebalance a Telegram RPG bot.
- What they did
- A project manager who does not code kept control of the game design and every balancing choice while Claude Code handled the build. It wrote the bot logic for combat and a player market, then deployed the bot over SSH, checked that it stayed up, and produced analytics the two could review together. For class tuning, it simulated many fights and suggested changes that would be safer to apply.
- How it went
- They had a working prototype after two evenings, then turned it into a live game in six weeks. Seven weeks in, the game had 164 players, including 109 active in the previous day. No marketing was used, and paid ads did not perform well.
- Tips
- If you try this, keep the human in charge of rules and balance decisions. Ask the agent to stop and confirm before any deployment, credential handling, or other irreversible step.
Try it yourself with Claude Code
Help me build a Telegram RPG bot for [game concept]. Create the bot code for [combat system], [class list], and [market or other features]. Also add a simulation that runs [number] test battles to check balance and suggest stat changes until the classes are reasonably even. Before you deploy anything to [server or host] over SSH, pause and show me the exact deployment steps, the files that will change, and how bot credentials will be handled so I can approve them first.
