Turn a favorite setting into a walkable 3D scene

A hobbyist used agents to create a browser-based 3D starship you can explore and to generate matching fanfic text around it.

What they did
Using a $200 plan for about a month, they worked with a custom-built or unnamed agent to construct multiple levels of an Excelsior-class starship, starting from a deck layout they had designed themselves. Where the Star Trek material did not spell things out, they decided on room dimensions and surface materials. They also directed and dictated fanfic for agents to write in a style that fit their preferences.
How it went
The finished model looks rough, but it can be navigated as a 3D space. Images from it helped give the fanfic precise viewpoints and scene detail, and they said both projects depended on AI tooling.
Tips
A project like this needs a clear starting plan, even if the agent does much of the building. Keep approvals in the loop whenever the agent is making design choices or handling anything you might want to revise later.

Try it yourself with Claude Code

Help me create a browser-based 3D version of [fictional ship/building/place] that I can walk through. Begin with [number] rooms or decks built from [my sketch / floor plan / written description], and ask for my approval before you make major layout changes, add assets, or save anything. For each area, label the space, give it basic navigation controls, and draft a short scene featuring [character name] that matches [tone/style]. Stop and wait for my confirmation before any irreversible action such as exporting, publishing, or deleting files. At the end, tell me how to launch it and summarize what is in each area.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
