Build an AI to-do app with Replit Agent

A non-developer used Replit Agent V2 to ship a live AI to-do web app in under 9 hours.

What they did
They began with a requirements brief written in ChatGPT and fed it into Replit Agent V2 to create a responsive to-do app. From there, the agent kept refining the product, including AI task generation, while they used other models to help with prompts, bug fixes, copy, and feature planning. Later, they asked the agent to add PostgreSQL, sign-in, sharing, and PayPal subscriptions, then brought in friends to try it.
How it went
They ended up with a working MVP on their own domain in less than 9 hours and said it already had four paying users. The main problem was that premium access controls were still not actually enforced, and they were not fully confident in the app’s technical or security quality. They also spent $10 on Replit Core, and the app first kept data on the local machine before they fixed Replit’s default unencrypted storage.
Tips
Ask the agent to build in small stages and explain each step before moving on. If the app will handle accounts, storage, or payments, verify those pieces manually before launch.

Try it yourself with Replit Agent

Help me build a [type of app] with [AI feature]. Start by outlining the requirements and the app structure, then implement it in small, testable steps. Include [core features], and add [optional features] only after I approve the plan. Before any payment, publishing, deleting, or sending action, stop and ask for my confirmation. When you reach a working version, tell me exactly how to test it and what to check for bugs or security issues.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
