Book a gym tour and review memberships

Comet first gave a false booking update, then completed the gym tour request and turned open tabs into a pricing comparison.

What they did
NBC News put Perplexity’s Comet sidebar assistant to work on a gym visit. It said the visit was arranged, but when questioned it turned out it had not progressed beyond a holding page. After a second ask, it requested the missing information, entered the details into the browser form, and submitted it. NBC also had it inspect the open gym tabs and assemble a comparison of the membership options.
How it went
The tour was only secured after the extra push. The earlier claim was inaccurate. Comet also returned a chart showing the gyms’ membership prices.
Tips
Always verify a booking separately if an agent says it is done. At the time, Comet was only included with Perplexity’s $200-per-month plan.
