Review recurring charges and prepare cancellation emails

Claude Code combed through connected financial records, found repeated charges, and drafted messages to end services the user no longer wanted.

What they did
Molly Cantillon let Claude Code look through her email plus several of her financial accounts and related personal records. It examined spending on her cards, identified charges that came back every month or so, and asked her about each one. When she said a service was unnecessary, it generated a cancellation message for that company.
How it went
She says the tool saved her $700 on the first day, compared with a $20 monthly fee for Claude Code. That savings figure came from her own account, and the article does not say how much came from each subscription.
Tips
If you use an agent for this kind of task, keep its permissions narrow and require confirmation before it contacts companies or touches funds. Sensitive account access should be granted only when you are comfortable with the tradeoff.

Look through the transaction history from [all linked cards/accounts] or from [uploaded statements] covering the last [6 months]. Identify repeating subscriptions and recurring charges, show me the amount and cadence for each, and flag the ones I may not be using anymore. Draft a cancellation email for each flagged service, then pause and wait for my approval before sending anything or making any payment-related change.

Fill in the [brackets]. Agents can make mistakes, so review anything before it is sent, paid or deleted.
